About the Lab
Cogneo Lab is a research group at The Institute focused on human and artificial intelligence, integrating brain science, next‑generation AI, AR/VR, and engineering to unlock new possibilities in health, learning, and human performance.
By studying how minds and brains work, we turn those insights into AI systems that are more capable, higher‑performing, and more energy‑efficient.
Our work has applications in medicine, business, and the military, from improving brain health and recovery to enabling new tools for education, discovery, decision‑making, and complex real‑world operations.
Focus Areas
Brain, Cognition, and Health
We study how the brain and mind work across the lifespan and in disease, with a focus on brain health, aging, and recovery.
Next-Generation, Brain-Inspired AI and Systems
We design AI models and architectures inspired by biological systems to create energy‑efficient, local, and adaptable intelligent systems.
Applied Intelligence in Health, Learning, and Knowledge
We build and test AI‑driven applications for health, biomedical research, education, and knowledge‑intensive work.
Get Involved
We welcome collaborations with academic, industry, and government partners who share our interest in human and artificial intelligence. If you're working on problems in brain health, neuroscience, learning, or next‑generation AI systems and applications, we’d be glad to explore potential joint projects, funding opportunities, and shared resources.
